        "Hooked on Color and Form"

Paula Lenz will be featured artist at Alcove Art Gallery during the month of May.  Her show, “Hooked on Color and Form”, will highlight both of Paula’s art forms:  punch needle and stained glass.  
Paula’s designs create intriguing images in both media. 
 
Punch Needle is a fiber art, also called Russian Embroidery.  It is an old craft which mimics the appearance of hooked rugs…….but in miniature size.  Paula chooses special hand-dyed floss for her designs, and frames them beautifully on a wool or felt background. 
 
For Paula’s stained glass pieces, she focuses on pleasing combinations of colors, textures and embellishments.  Paula chooses not to plan her free flowing glass designs, instead allowing the piece to evolve as she works.  This results in very intriguing abstract pieces.
